The first time we came here was a couple months ago. It was summer and we didn't think we needed gloves and jackets, but we did. Thankfully they have plenty of warm clothes they let you use. The lady recommended I grab some so I did. It would have been a miserable trip without them! We also went yesterday with some out of town friends. We were almost to Lake City when I got a flat. I had the tire insurance so wasn't worried. I called them and Larry the owner came out right away with the new tire. It took about an hour and a half for him to get out to us because we were so far away from Silverton. He was very helpful and a great guy. Very nice and in a good mood (which I'm not sure I would be having to drive 3 hour round trip through the mountains for a 5 minute tire change!) He even allowed us to keep the 4 wheeler and UTV longer that day to make up the time which he didn't have to do and meant they had to stay open late for us to return. Go ahead and rent from this place without worry and have fun! Just make sure you get the tire insurance for some peace of mind!
The experience was great overall. The machine that was rented to us was almost too underpowered for the job having to hold it to the floor in order to keep going on some of the steeper hills and was an 04 model and drove terrible on the highway and was making a popping noise till we got back and after paying almost $300 for a day they made you drive it down to the car wash and wash it for them after you were done so then you had to drive the 3 blocks back to the rental on a wet seat which was a real BK but overall we had fun.
It was amazing. The guides were awesome and helpful. The lunch was so good. Best sandwich we have ever had. Just great experience I would recommend to anyone. It's was so much fun. We would definitely do it again.
A ton of fun!! Mike and Rebecca were terrific guides. Visited 4 peaks above 12000 ft. Great pictures too. I will recommend to all my friends.
Great local info source for services. Larry behind the counter knew of a rock climber for a special project. He wouldn't take a tip for the referral. He just wanted to connect someone with a need and someone with skills. Place is highly thought of by locals. Sheriff refered me to him. Silverton looks out for locals. Great guys.
