- Showers are $5 for 4 minutes, and there's lots of loose dirt that gets on everything. Be prepared to be a little dirty.

I really enjoyed my stay a lot!

Awesome campground. Close to all the fun. Great hiking right out of the campground very friendly staff. Beautiful area.

Wow, what a great place for a family p8cnic and a little fishing. Quiet, off the beaten path.

Also, the folks running the place are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I'd go to them first for info, in our experience they were more helpful than the Silverton visitor's center. All in all an incredible experience. Don't forget to look up for stars at night!

Unfortunatly, our experience with this campground lasted about 15 munutes. Ten minutes of driving through to see if we wanted to stay there and five minutes of getting berated, by who I can only assume was the owner, for driving through without stopping first. We certainly didn't mean to "break any rules" or offend anyone. Our conclusion: there are a plethora of equally beautiful camping places all over this area where you don't have to endure being treated with such disdain. These types of camp hosts can make for miserable experiences. My quiet, non-partying family will stay at any one of the other amazing options when visiting Silverton. Too bad, we stay in Silverton at least yearly. This could've been a great option for us.

- The roads are good enough for most sedans, but you'll have an easier time getting around and more fun in the area driving something with a higher clearance.

The road: each site is off the dirt road where practically everyone did not do 5mph as was posted so everything was very dusty. Unless your camping a little further in from the dirt road (which we were not).

- Bring the food you'll need for the trip. There are grocery options in Silverton around the corner, but everything is marked up at least 200%. Stock up in Durango at the latest if you're coming in from the south.

Very nice lake with awesome fishing. Nice scenery and the staff were very friendly. Showers were nice and clean. You have to pay for tokens to have a four minute shower. You wouldn't think four minutes was enough but I was able to get clean and have about a minute left over.

The bathrooms: I guess since they are compost toilets I shouldn't expect much... But if I was running the place they would be cleaned at least 2-3 times a day. The floors and toilets themselves were disgusting and riddled with urine drippings with dirt clinging to it.

It looses one star because of the bathrooms and dusty road.

Awesome campground! The sites are mostly nestled in the woods by Molas Lake with pretty incredible views of the mountains. There's also some great hiking just out of the campground. I wanted to offer a couple of tips for folks staying:

- Bring a few liters worth of water bladders. There seems to be only one potable water source, up by the office. Had to make 2-3 water runs a day.

I really liked this campsite! If I travel through again I will stay at this campground.
