Extremely impressed with this amazingly affordable $8 (price at time of review for one adult) tour. Well worth every penny and more! Staff (the female working the counter) was very helpful and passionate about the historical society and even told us some interesting facts about the location. From the early day jail to mining history, the museum offers a great look of the area's past!
One of the best mining heritage museums in the country. Three floors of displays and artifacts. Three story recreated stope/scram. Local and world class minerals. 1902 jail. Entrance to museum is a real boarding house saved from destruction! Great book selection in gift shop. Be sure to visit the Mayflower Mill (mid June to mid Sept). Ask about the Heritage Pass and save a few bucks too!
One of the best mining museums that I have visited! Don't miss it if you like local history.
Thoroughly impressed with this museum. The people behind it have put thought, care, and passion into this experience and it absolutely shows! Well worth a visit!
This is a great museum. Easily one of the best! You get to walk through a 1902 jailhouse with several displays then go through the underground vault through to the mining museum. So much stuff, you'd be there all day looking at everything. Go to the Old Hundred Mine Tour to complete your site seeing!
